What subway trains should I take to get to Time Square?

Okay so I'm 13 and I'm going to be going to Time Square with my friends and I just wanna make sure. I'll be taking the LIRR and I think I go to Penn Square. I live in Nassau County, Long Island and so yeah. I feel so stupid. haha just wanna make sure. :P
