4cm no contractions. i think ?

Im 38 weeks and 5 days and today I went in for my check up. My doctor told me I was 4cm dilated and he strongly believes I will go in tonight ...the most tomorrow. This is my second child and I had an epidural with my first. I want to try and not have an epidural this time around but I heard if my water breaks it can be less then 20 min when the baby is out...and I know the epi takes about 30 min to kick in. I'm feeling very heavy lots of pressure down there and I do feel some tightness in my stomach nothing to bad oh and def some nausea. I guess I'm looking for everyone's experiences I'm pretty nervous!
